5 THINGS THAT MADE YEMI ALADE “SHEKERE” A GREAT SONG.

Yemi Alade has really proven to herself and her fans at large that she’s truly “Mama Africa” when she teamed up with Angelique Kidjo to celebrate Africa in a new video called “SHEKERE”. Yemi Alade seems to be so influenced with African culture such that she celebrates the African people a lot, she appreciates the culture through the kind of messages she preach to her fans out there.

Yemi alade’s SHEKERE is an adaptation of Angelique Kidjo’s “Wombo Lombo” as it carries almost the same beats with the tune of Angelique Kidjo’s song Wombo Lombo, also the use of “Wombo Lombo” could be heard repeatedly in Yemi Alade’s SHEKERE.

One of the reasons for this great collabo between Yemi Alade and Angelique Kidjo is simply to reach out to the world the uniqueness of African culture and the beauty of its people. Although, more emphasis is been placed on the uniqueness and richness of African culture, tradition and our way of life, and of course they want the rest of the world to know that we are deeply African language with their mode of dressing.
Let’s take a look at 5 things that makes “SHEKERE” a great song.

  1. Let’s consider the use of the African instruments in the song, this alone already made the song a good one because we could tell with the way the drums are been used. The instruments portrays the nature of we Africans.
  2. Also the video quality speaks well of the African culture as they are being able to reveal various colors of attires, the mode of dressing is another thing to focus our attention on. Also let’s not forget the settings and the environment they choose to shot the video as well, everything they did is deeply rich in African.
  3. Also the use of language and culture are been embedded together in one song. At a point, we couldn’t tell which one is Angelique Kidjo’s voice and which one is Yemi Alade’s voice, because they almost have the same voice, but what made it a bit difference is the use of their language, Angelique Kidjo infuse her Benin language more in the song which made the song interesting.
  4. We can say the song is receiving enough massive airplay already, “SHEKERE” which was released on February 5th 2020, has more than 7 million views already with about six thousand and more comments on her YouTube page. This is just to show that the song is DOING WELL.
  5. Lastly, the use of their voice is something to comment on, it’s so unique that one will mistake Yemi Alade for Angelique Kidjo. We could just conclude that Angelique Kidjo makes the song more interesting because she really makes use of her voice at some particular point.

Save the people  ♥️ ” this is in connection with the recent killings going on around the world. Truly, we need God’s intervention in this world

In a recent interview with OAP Dotun at Cool Fm, the rapper “Erigga” revealed that he is the brain behind the common slang  “2 Seconds everywhere don burst” that is being used in the music industry now. Not wanting to mention Wizkid’s name who used the slang in his new track “ Ghetto Love “, he explained that he was surprised that the singer would boldly use the slang in his song.
